Online school vs in-person school: How are they different?
Online courses give everyone, regardless of where they are living, an opportunity to learn our language. Although in-person learning is still the ideal, it is not possible for many of our Secwepemc people to take advantage of it.
Who teaches online lessons?
Most of our courses are taught by experienced teachers, Seth Armitage, Dr. Kathryn Michel, and Janice E. Billy. We have some online courses that are asynchronous, meaning that they are not teacher-led.
Who can benefit from online school?
Anyone with a passion for learning the Secwépemc language!
Are online courses the same as regular college courses?
They are similar in the course content that is covered, however, most courses use Zoom as the online video platform and Canvas as the learning management platform.
When does online school start?
Fall semester starts at the beginning of September and Spring semester starts in January.
How much do online courses cost?
We charge the same amount as the school that accredits our courses. NVIT: $92.78/credit or $278.34 per 3 credit course.
