School updates from Principal Robert Matthew and Vice-Principal Elaine Colgate
Our new Vice-Principal Elaine Colgate will work alongside the principal to provide educational leadership and administration of the school.
Elaine grew up in the traditional territory of the Tsilhqot’in in the community of Xeni (Nemiah Valley). She has a passion for education and is always seeking new and innovative ways of teaching and learning. During Elaine’s 25-year career as an educational leader, she has had the opportunity to work in two Band Operated Schools, two school districts and 7 different schools as a Principal and a District Principal. She also worked for the BC Ministry of Education where she and her team led teachers in developing the current BC Curriculum, which included assessment and reporting practices in support of inquiry based, personalized learning for students.Vice-Principal Elaine Colgate looks forward to providing her expertise in supporting the school and to also have the opportunity to learn and grow from the students, parents, staff and community of Chief Atahm School.
